<description>Just a quick follow up from my earlier post, that I received the grip a day late (and with me chasing Bristol Cameras quite a lot).

The grip itself though is fine. Okay, not the best build quality (no equivalent grip to compare it to, mind), but works fine, seems balanced, and the IR remote control is quite useful for snap photos (not great for bulb, due to it being IR and there no lock facility).

I would recommend it, just perhaps not from Bristol cameras.

<description>I just received the BG-40D batterygrip. I read a few reviews stating that in some cases 6.5 fps is not possible, or that the 2 extra buttons did not function, but i figured: lets take a chance.
I received it within the week (hongkong to Netherlands), and it works perfect,no problem, canon20D still gets max fps, buttons work great. Quite a good quality, very nice feature to place the original batterycover in the grip when using it. overall i have to say i am very pleased!
Also purchased a wireless remote from them, for the fun of it (12$ or so), only comment is that one of the included batteries arrived empty, but that was easily fixed. this thing also works great!

<description>Thanks for the write-up. I too just got this early tonight. Crossing my fingers that I get a fully-functional one.

In terms of HK Supplies, did they offer to do a switche for free? Thanks in advance.</description>

<description>Hmm, I wondered if some of these cheaper models would suffice, but in the end have ordered the Hanel Pro Grip for my 40D. It has an IR remote control in it, for which I can see some uses while I wait to buy a wired remote with timer.

I've not received it yet mind, having a few issues getting sales support from Bristol Cameras.

I'll let you know how it goes, and hope you can get some money back. Maybe reference this blog - if only 50 people don't buy as a result of reading this, that's their sales hurt enough for them to try to provide decent customer service. One hopes.
