Hahnemuhle FineArt InkJet Post Cards
Recently my mum gave me some old B&W photographs that she wanted scanned, fixed and copies printed. These where photos from her childhood mainly from the 1950’s so I wanted to be able to print them out on the best paper suitbale for the job. It was not just a case of printing them out and handing them over I wanted to present them in a nice way too. My first thought was to use Harman warm tone gloss but the smallest size is A4 and I did not want to cut the paper up. I had resolved myself to printing them out on Ilfords smooth pearl paper as it comes in 6×4 but a visit to Calument turned up the perfect solution from Hahnemuhle.
On the shelf next to the large packs of paper I noticed a few small silver tins and on closer inspection these tuned out to be packs of 30 6×4 sheets of hahnemuhle paper.

These are avalable in photorag 308gsm, photorag pearl 320 gsm and fine art baryta 325gsm. I purchased the fine art baryta version.
After I scanned the photographs using my epson 4990 I adjusted and fixed most of the damage to the images. Some of the originals where not worth printing out again but my mum has a record saved now anyway.

I printed the images in my R2400 using the ABW function giving the prints a slight warm tone. The texture of the Hahnemuhle baryta paper really suited these images and my wife actually thought they were old photos rather than reprints.
The paper is not particuarly cheap at £12 for 30 sheets but for special prints its worth it and the silver tin makes for a great presentation of the images. Looks like I’ve found a christmas present for my gran lol
